USB Active Extension Cable
Model USBAEC16
USB Active Extension Cable is not a passive extension cable. It is an active device. With
Model
USBAEC16 the USB signals going in and out of the extension cable are buffered to assure signal
quality
. Passive USB cables cannot be used for lengths over 5 meters. The USBAEC16 is a 16 foot long
cable (approximately 5 meters). By putting five USBAEC16 cables in series you can achieve distances of
80 feet. The USB Active Extender Cable acts as a transparent USB hub and buffers all downstream and
upstream data traffic. Both low-speed and high-speed devices will function equally well with the USB
Active Extender Cable. No power supply required since the USBAEC16 draws power directly from the
USB lines.
